Meg Miles

Vice President for Philanthropy

In her role as Vice President for Philanthropy, Meg organizes, directs, and leads the Greater New Orleans Foundation’s comprehensive philanthropy program, to include both fundraising and fund development. The Vice President for Philanthropy adeptly balances the Foundation’s aims of attracting and servicing fundholders and building assets while also raising funds for the Foundation’s own annual and special initiatives and grantmaking programs.

Meg most recently served as Chief Advancement Officer for the Louisiana Children’s Museum (LCM), where she oversaw strategic fund development to strengthen outcomes for children, families and local communities. Before joining LCM, Meg served as the Executive Director of YAYA (Young Aspirations Young Artists), an organization that has empowered youth in New Orleans through visual arts and entrepreneurship training for 35 years. At YAYA, she oversaw all operations, fundraising, and strategic planning with the goal of creating a safe and supportive environment for creative thinkers to build their skills as next generation leaders.

Prior to her time at YAYA, Meg dedicated a decade working in the arts and culture sector in New York City. For seven years, she served as the Director of Partnerships and Development at Creative Capital, an organization that provides grants, counsel and advisory services to groundbreaking artists working in all disciplines nationwide. In addition, Meg served as the Program Coordinator at Open House New York, Gallery Manager at Morgan Lehman Gallery, and an educator at the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum.

Currently, Meg serves on the steering committee for the Tchoupitoulas Flood Wall Mural, a mile-long public artwork celebrating the history of New Orleans, and as the Board Treasurer for Crafting Future, a national organization working to diversify the fields of art, craft and design by connecting BIPOC artists with opportunities that will help them thrive.

Meg received a bachelor’s degree in art history from Oberlin College, where she was also an educator and researcher at the Allen Memorial Art Museum. She holds a Certificate in Business Excellence from Columbia University Business School’s Senior Leaders Program for Nonprofit Professionals.
