2024 PARTNERS IN PHILANTHROPY
It has been another fantastic year at the Greater New Orleans Foundation, thanks in large part to the generosity of the people of our region. Our collective efforts are helping create a thriving, just, and sustainable 13-parish region for all who call Southeast Louisiana home. We ask that you consider a gift to our Partners in Philanthropy annual campaign to support our efforts across the region.
By joining us as a Partner in Philanthropy, you support our most important work at the Greater New Orleans Foundation as regional changemakers who work together to address our region’s greatest challenges. Your gift of unrestricted dollars goes further, allowing us to play a leadership role in our community by advancing charitable giving, strengthening nonprofits through grants and trainings, and leading transformative community projects.
One example of the Foundation’s leadership can be seen in our Next 100 Years Challenge. In 2023, we awarded a total of $1.2 million to ten nonprofit and governmental organizations in our region who developed great ideas for resilient infrastructure projects that could attract additional funding. Only one year later, that $1.2 million has been leveraged by our winners to secure more than $100 million in federal dollars to improve our infrastructure and make our region safer and more resilient.
Our grants and technical support positioned groups like The United Houma Nation and The City of Gretna to secure tens of millions of dollars to do what they best know how to do—protect and strengthen infrastructure to meet their specific community needs. The Greater New Orleans Foundation is where resources and expertise come together to catalyze change. As a community foundation, we leverage local and national resources to deliver significant impact and set a national example of community resiliency.
