Shawn Wyatt
Operations Manager
Shawn Wyatt joined the team at the Greater New Orleans Foundation in 2021 as the Foundation’s first Operations Manager. Shawn has over 20 years of experience working in operations across several fields including retail, education, and local government.
Prior to his role with the Foundation, Shawn served 2 years as the Operations Manager at Samuel J. Green Charter School in the Firstline Schools Charter Network, and 7 years as the Director of the Recreation Centers for the City of New Orleans, under the Landrieu Administration. In this role Shawn was responsible for the daily operations of the City of New Orleans’ 13 Recreation Centers, 3 tennis facilities, and 3 large regional parks. Shawn was a key member of a team that managed over $180 million in Capital Projects for the renovation of the City’s recreational infrastructure. This includes contributions to the design, commission, and operation of the Lafitte Greenway, Joe W. Brown Memorial Park, and the Andrew P. Sanchez Multi-Service Center in the Lower 9th Ward, to name a few.
Shawn received both his M.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies and B.A. in Psychology from the University of West Florida, in Pensacola, Florida.
Shawn is an avid soccer fan, with over 20 years of experience coaching, mentoring, and administrating leagues around the Gulf Coast.
