Senior Program Associate for Nonprofit Leadership and Effectiveness
Alana began her journey to New Orleans in 2012 for her B.A. in Sociology with a minor in Psychology at Xavier University of Louisiana. Alana spent several years working in educational enrichment programming first with Upward Bound at both the University of Southern California and Louisiana State University (LSU). Upon the completion of her Masters in Sociology at LSU, Alana then went to serve in a leadership role with Breakthrough New Orleans for 4 years where she expanded their existing elementary and middle school enrichment programs into an all new high school program. She also worked as adjunct faculty at several universities in the New Orleans area. Alana then finished her Ph.D in Sociology at LSU and entered the corporate arena in the field of market research as a Senior Associate with Kantar North America. Excited to re-enter the nonprofit sector, Alana serves as the Senior Program Associate for Nonprofit Leadership and Effectiveness for the Greater New Orleans Foundation.
