Ashley J. Floyd
Major Gifts Officer
Raised in New Orleans, La, Ashley Floyd is currently the Major Gifts Officer at the Greater New Orleans Foundation. Prior to this role, she served as the Director of Development of Major Gifts at the LSU Foundation. Prior to her role at the LSU Foundation, she spent 10 years in Chicago, working in diverse segments including STEM education, arts and culture, and leadership development. Before returning to her hometown, Ashley was the Senior Associate Director of Major Gifts at Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law. In this position, she led the school’s West Coast Initiatives which added opportunities for students and alumni in the Southern California and Seattle regions. Focusing on entrepreneurship, technology, and entertainment, she worked with companies and law firm partners to create a new wave of opportunities for diverse groups of law and business-minded students, alumni, and entrepreneurs.
Actively engaged in the philanthropic community of Chicago, Ashley served as the Membership Co-Chair for the Big Shoulders Fund’s Chairman’s Advisory Council (Co-Chair D&I Committee), Black Leadership Council, Executives Club, Illinois LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce, and the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago’s Women’s Board.
Ashley is an avid art collector, with a vested interest in acquiring young diverse artists. Ashley received her Bachelor of Art in Dance Performance/Choreography from the University of Southern Mississippi, and Master of Arts from the University of New Orleans. Prior to her career in fundraising, she completed her certificate in dance from The Ailey School and danced for professional companies in New York and Chicago.
