Kellie Chavez Greene
Vice President for Programs
As the Vice President for Programs, Kellie is responsible for overseeing the foundation’s grantmaking, strategic partnerships, and programmatic initiatives. A member of the senior leadership team, the Vice President for Programs works closely with the programs staff, nonprofit organizations, community leaders, and other stakeholders to identify and address the most pressing needs in the community. Celebrating over a decade of service, Kellie’s leadership has been instrumental to the Foundation’s positioning as an innovator and civic leader in the foundations core programmatic focus areas including workforce, environment, disaster preparedness, response and recovery, nonprofit leadership and effectiveness, and racial equity.
With a deep commitment to promoting social justice and equity, Kellie has dedicated her career to supporting and empowering nonprofits to meet their critical missions. Through her leadership, the foundation has developed a reputation as a trusted partner in the community.
Prior to joining the Greater New Orleans Foundation, Kellie served as Vice President for Programs for the Louisiana Association of Nonprofit Organizations. She has also served on the staff and as a consultant with foundations across the South including the Rapides Foundation, Foundation for the Mid-South, and W.K. Kellogg Foundation. Kellie serves on the Board of Directors for Serve Louisiana, an AmeriCorps Program. She started her career in the nonprofits sector through AmeriCorps. Kellie lives in New Orleans with her husband and cat, Cornbread. She is originally from Brownsville, Texas.
