Position Summary
The Donor Relations Associate is an important team member who provides support in advancing the comprehensive philanthropic efforts of the Foundation. The Donor Relations Associate is a collaborative, detail-oriented, and motivated professional who will provide valuable administrative and technical support for the philanthropic efforts of the Foundation. This position will work closely with the Foundation’s women’s giving circle, Impact 100, serve as a key point of contact for individuals interested in establishing new donor-advised funds, and provide support to a portfolio of current fundholders. The Donor Relations Associate reports to the Vice President for Philanthropy and will work closely with colleagues in the Development and Donor Relations Department and with other team members at the Foundation to ensure the highest quality of donor engagement, stewardship, and service.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Support the comprehensive philanthropic efforts of the Foundation by performing the following essential functions:
- Cultivate, support, and steward relationships with the members of Impact 100 to ensure they maintain a philanthropic relationship with the Foundation beyond Impact 100, while also proactively identifying and qualifying new prospects who may have an interest in joining the group.
- Support and steward relationships with individuals who invest in donor-advised funds, including managing incoming gifts and outgoing grants, and providing general support.
- Provide support to donors and fundholders with general requests for information and technical support, including assisting with access and fund updates through the Foundation’s donor portal powered by Salesforce.
- Working closely with team members in the Development and Donor Relations Department, prepare and execute an annual plan for follow-up and stewardship of Give NOLA Day donors.
- Conduct prospect research to identify new prospects who may have an interest in the programs and initiatives of the Foundation or may have interest in establishing donor-advised funds or other giving vehicles at the Foundation.
- Provide administrative duties and logistical support for the Foundation’s donor-focused events, such as Give NOLA Day, Spark of Philanthropy, Celebration of Black Philanthropy, annual Cambridge Associates presentation and other donor engagement events, among others.
- Working closely with the Donor Relations Officer, monitor giving and biographical information updates to the Foundation’s customer relationship management (CRM) system, Salesforce, to ensure inputs are consistent and accurate
- Provide support to the Vice President for Philanthropy in preparing donor communications and donor-focused collateral, scheduling and coordinating internal and external meetings on behalf of the Development and Donor Relations Department, and performing general administrative duties, as needed.
- Serve as backup and staff the front desk reception area when needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Ability to establish effective relationships and communications with colleagues and team members in other departments across the Foundation.
- Receptive to feedback and course corrections and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Genuine interest in advancing the Greater New Orleans region and an understanding of and dedication to promoting the mission of the Foundation.
- A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a nonprofit or fund development setting and events management experience.
- Excellent computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office and nonprofit CRMs (e.g. FIMS, Salesforce), and donor research tools (e.g., WealthEngine, Candid).
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range is $55,000-$60,000; starting salary will be commensurate with experience. This position is exempt, and the employee will be eligible for the Foundation’s competitive health and benefits plan including paid leave and employer-paid retirement. The Donor Relations Associate must be located in, or willing to relocate to the Greater New Orleans region.
