Nonprofits are increasingly finding creative and effective ways to use social networks like Facebook and Twitter to raise money and develop relationships with potential supporters. The Greater New Orleans Foundation Organizational Effectiveness initiative hosted a learning community to learn about and discuss nonprofit organizations drawing on their social networks and social media as fundraising strategy and donor cultivation and stewardship tool.
The learning community focused on the following topics:
- How to create campaigns that inspire your social network followers to share your message and solicit their friends
- How to make simple adjustments to your social media message that will yield big results
- How to build lasting relationships that turn one-time donors into regular contributors
