New Orleans, LA | February 19, 2013 – Kellie Chavez Greene joins the staff of the Greater New Orleans Foundation as program officer for the Foundation’s Organizational Effectiveness Initiative. Previously, she was vice president for programs at the Louisiana Association of Nonprofit Organizations.
“The Organizational Effectiveness Initiative is growing at the Foundation, and we’re excited to have someone as talented as Kellie with her twenty plus years of experience in nonprofit management and leadership,” said Albert Ruesga, president and CEO for the Greater New Orleans Foundation.
Now in its third year, the Organizational Effectiveness Initiative is about strengthening the nonprofit sector. The goal is to help nonprofits be more effective in every aspect of their operations, from fundraising to project management to evaluation. Since its inception, over three hundred nonprofit organizations have benefited from the trainings and workshops on various topics tailored to their needs.
“When you bring nonprofit leaders together who work in the same sector you can create an incredible synergy,” said Joann Ricci, vice president for organizational effectiveness at the Foundation who was hired specifically to launch the initiative. “We’re creating a network for nonprofit leaders to learn from one another and to form alliances because when we all work together the community benefits.”
Kellie’s responsibilities will include designing and implementing programs to strengthen the region’s nonprofit organizations and to increase the effectiveness of the Foundation’s grantmaking.
