The outbreak of the new coronavirus (COVID-19), now declared a global pandemic by the World Health Organization, is on everyone’s mind. With local transmission having occurred in the Greater New Orleans region, the time for action is now.

The Greater New Orleans Foundation hosted a 2020 Census Nonprofit Convening at the Center for Philanthropy featuring a presentation by Ashley Herad, Partnership Specialist from the U.S. Department of Commerce, and a panel discussion with Arthur C. Walton, Director of Intergovernmental Relations for the Office of Mayor LaToya Cantrell, Judy Reese Morse, President & CEO for the Urban League of Louisiana, and Janea C. Jamison, MPA, Program Manager and Census 2020 Director for The Power Coalition for Equity and Justice.

The Greater New Orleans Foundation recently received a $100,000 grant from the Corporation for state-of-the-art technological upgrades.

On Thursday, February 13, 2020, the Greater New Orleans Foundation, in partnership with NOLA Public Schools and funding support from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and Baptist Community Ministries hosted a panel discussion at the Center for Philanthropy.

In summer 2018, 30 evaluation practitioners from across the Gulf Coast established a local affiliate of AEA that would provide networking, professional development, and advocacy for evaluation in our region, promoting both evaluation supply and demand. Before transitioning to a dues-paying membership model, GCEval needed to provide value to the community worthy of payment.
